PPE compliance
PPE compliance shows how consistently people on site are wearing required personal protective equipment.
You will find it on Risk analytics as the PPE compliance rate KPI.
PPE compliance is not alerts
Alerts are safety observations that need follow-up — assignment, action, and verification.
PPE compliance is a separate analytics measure. It shows how often required PPE is worn correctly across observed work on site. It does not raise an alert for every observation, and it is not counted from the alert list.
That means:

A week with few (or no) PPE-related alerts is not the same as strong PPE compliance — and the reverse is also true. They answer different questions.
What the rate means
The PPE compliance rate is the share of observed work where every required PPE item checked by Quantavist was worn correctly. Displayed estimates apply the same model-error adjustment used in production. The shaded plausible range shows how the estimate changes across the documented false-violation assumptions; it is not a statistical confidence interval.
- Higher is better
- Risk analytics compares the selected period with the previous equivalent period
- Overall PPE is the primary rate
- A person is an overall PPE violation when one or more checked items are missing
- Hard-hat and high-visibility-vest rates show which item drives violations
- You can switch the trend, time-of-day, weekday, and location charts between overall PPE and a breakdown by PPE type
If there was not enough camera coverage in the selected period, the rate may show as unavailable rather than an unreliable figure.
The overall violation rate is an OR measure. Someone missing both a hard hat and a high-visibility vest counts once in the overall rate and once in each relevant item breakdown. For that reason, the item rates should not be added together.
How to use it
- Open Analyse → Risk analytics.
- Check the PPE compliance rate card for the selected date range.
- Compare with the previous period to see whether compliance improved or worsened.
- Open the compliance breakdown to compare overall PPE with Hard hat and High-visibility vest.
- Use the chart toggle to compare overall PPE with the breakdown by PPE type.
Use PPE compliance to track site-wide PPE discipline over time. Use alerts when someone needs to act on a specific safety observation.
